We are having a contest to determine which college is the worst in America and we’ll pay you $1,000 if you win. If your submission doesn’t win, you still get to keep 50% of all the Ad revenue that your submission generates, just like all other user submitted stories do. For more information on our Adsense revenue sharing program, check the College Life Section.

A few things to consider:

  • You can remain anonymous if you wish. We have no desire to rat you out to your school, but if you want your name attached to it so they feel your wrath – we can do that too. We’ll even give a link back to your Facebook profile if you want.
  • Submissions should be at least 350 words, but longer entries will probably have a better chance of winning (kinda like an SAT) and all submissions must be 100% original – they will be checked with software.
  • Be specific. Is the administration unhelpful? Is the housing rat infested? Do the professors just let clueless TA’s run the show? Does the weather suck? Is a good percentage of the student body made up of conceited D-Bags? The more specifics you give, the more likely you’ll win.
  • We reserve the right to publish any and all non-winning submissions. If your submission is published, you will earn 50% of all ad revenue that it generates so even if you lose the contest, you can make considerable money from your review so be sure to put good info in it, and promote it on your Facebook, Twitter etc to maximize exposure. We pay residual income to the authors of everything we publish.

Here is an example of a well done negative review of Kaplan University.

Now for some legal stuff. This offer is void where prohibited. There is no fee to submit your review. We retain complete rights over your submission, including the right to publish non-winning submissions. We reserve the right to award prize money to more than one winner if we feel they are deserving, and we reserve the right to award no prize money if we feel none of the submissions are deserving. The contest is completely subjective and the winner will be chosen on February 28th with the winning submission being declared on this page within 7 days of the end of the contest. Prize money will be awarded within 14 days of the end of the contest, and Adsense revenue on all other published submissions will be paid for the life of the article, in increments of $25. We also reserve the right to extend or shorten the length of this contest at our discretion and any changes will be made public on this page.

Submissions should be made in a standard Word Document or in the body of the email. Contact us for the submission email address and attach the word document with the words “Worst College Contest” in the title. If you have any other questions about the contest feel free to ask in the comments below.
