Being a single mother was tough and making ends meet even tougher. I wanted to go back to school but I had two small children so there was no way I would be able to – or so I thought. For the past 4 years I had been working as a nurse at a local health clinic, and although I was making enough money to scratch out a decent living, I wanted to be able to take my two children for vacations and not worry so much about money. Unfortunately, due to my degree, I was only qualified to be a regular nurse.

One of my friends working at the main hospital was a senior level management nurse, which essentially means she overlooked all the nurses and helped with operations and such. I decided to do some research, and I found out that I would only need to commit to an additional two years of learning to achieve a Master’s degree in health administration, which was all I need to be promoted to the senior level management level at the local health clinic I worked at. Unfortunately for me, there was no way I could commit to going to school full time or even part time. Luckily, the day before I had heard people throwing the term “distance education” and online school around, so I decided to find out more information. I learned that many universities let you earn a degree online via their online school or distance education program.
After searching around and coming to many different online universities, I came onto to the site of Capella University. The first thing I noticed was how many different degrees they offered. Without listing them all, they offered various degrees in health care, business, education, and information technologies. I was also impressed that one was able to achieve a PhD degree. Most other online schools offered only Bachelor degrees. Anyways, I noticed that they offered a Master’s degree in health administration. I decide to request more information. When I got my information back from Capella University, I was impressed with the fair tuition cost and how they clearly explained the distance education program. At this point, I was convinced, I decided to enroll.
So, how was my experience? It was great – I found their online school to be easy to use; it was easy to interact with the professors and tasks were actually fun and interesting. I was especially impressed with how friendly and helpful the professors were (more so than at the school I got my bachelor’s degree from). Long story short, I proudly earned my Master’s in health administration, and now two and a half years later, I am employed as a senior nurse and making more than ever, all thanks to Capella University and their online school.
I definitely recommend at least considering Capella University. The best way to find out more information about what Capella University offers is to do what I did, and request a free information pack. It’s 100% free and thanks to it, I now make one and half times more money than before.
