Other library facilities: The Library and Learning Resource Center is a web-based online library maintained by Empire State College at www.esc.edu/library. In 1971, the college was chartered by the SUNY Regents without a physical library or a collection of traditional print resources, with the expectation that Empire State College students would use the library facilities of the SUNY system.
The online resources of the library are intended to help users maximize their local library resources and to provide the necessary tools to efficiently identify library materials located at SUNY college libraries and other local libraries and regional library systems. To this end, the Empire State College library provides guides to access to online card catalogs, indexing and abstracting databases, full-text documents where available, and Internet resources to support research and reference needs. The online library features:
11,000+ E-books across broad range of academic subject disciplines
10,000+ Unique fulltext journal titles
300+ Electronic searchable databases from 25 vendors
200+ Online searchable reference books
10 10 Research guides to internet resources and research databases arranged by the college’s areas of study
2 On-line and 2 CD-based tutorials to help you use our resources more effectively for research
