Overall, I would love nothing more than to bash on Emory. However, I think that being honest will be more effective:
Over the last 3 years that I have spent at Emory, I have had progressivly less fun, and feel that I want a refund for my "education"....
In terms of the social life, Emory is destorying their greek system and taking away from students joining together to have a good time. They are outwardly doing this in an effort to acheive better academic standing - if students are not drinking and fornicating they will be studying. right? In addition to this, emory is hiring the best and the brightest professors to teach here- yay!. However, these professors are the best and the brighest in their fields of research, not in teaching! Thus, I learn everything from my textbooks.
When I first came to Emory I had a big smile on my face. That lasted until about midway through my sophmore year. Now I am very unhappy with how this school is run and am constantly trying to distance myself from the school in an effort to salavage my one remaining year.
If you are looking for an above average (not saying much) education, a very subpar social life, and great weather, this is where you want to be. Otherwise, I give it a huge thumbs down.
