College Essays

The rite of passage for college students is taking exams and writing essays. Most students view college essays as a necessary evil imposed by sinister instructors and professors to make students’ lives miserable. For many students, the essay is their first real attempt at expressing themselves in the written word. Many students spend their time watching television, playing video games, and surfing the Internet.
Yet, college essays are important to student development. Students are supposed to be studying the subjects they are enrolled for. They are attending lectures and classes and, hopefully, reading the textbook, thus gaining information and knowledge about the subject. An essay, as part of class requirements, provides the instructor the ability to assess the scope of the student’s understanding. The essay allows the student to give feedback to the instructor about their comprehension of the subject.
The essay allows the student to express, in writing, not only the level of understanding, but gives the student an opportunity to learn more about the subject by doing additional research and exploration. Given the access to the information on the Internet and other search tools, students can learn more about the subject and read about other viewpoints which can be incorporated into the essay.
The essay forces, yes forces, the student to read the textbook and to attend classes. If the subject interests the student, the essay provides a great opportunity to learn more. But the knowledge gained only reflects the student’s level of interest. The essay provokes the student into learning something they didn’t know before.
The college essay is preparation for the future. After graduation, the student will be asked to write letters, papers, and memorandums as a natural course of business… The experience in writing college essays spills over into life. And the knowledge and understanding of writing will allow the person greater success in future jobs and employment.
Finally, the student will write better. The only way a student can become a better writer is to write essays and articles. Writing college essays forces a student to write in a clear and organized manner expressing ideas and thoughts. Too many students today cannot communicate with others. Spending time with electronic devices is great entertainment, but barely requires a student to talk or write. It is imperative that students write essays in college for their own benefit. College essays are the key to personal success.
But what can a student do, who works full-time, or part-time, or has family responsibilities? Attending day or night school, students are asked to write essays, but have no time.
The college essay does not write itself. One good solution is to use a “ghost” writer. Politicians, business people, authors, and students all use them at one time or another. The “ghost” writer is a professional who can take the burden off a student workload.
Or sometimes, an instructor wants a college essay on a subject the student has no knowledge or information. The solution is to find an expert who can write the essay to the satisfaction of both the student and the instructor. Students are not experts. If they were, they wouldn’t be attending college and writing class essays.
In the end, the college essay must be written. Most students and the general population are not writers. They lack the skill, the experience, and the ability. Using another writer is the best choice for a student to be successful in college.
