I am sure Central Michigan is a fine school however I would never send any of my kids there. Their police in Mt. Pleasant are ridiculous. They seem to forget that these are just college kids. My son went for a visit to see a friend from high school. Of course he took him to a party. Upon walking back the police arrested my son for drinking and disorderly conduct (which of course the district attorney dropped because the charge was not called for). After spending the night in jail and paying $350 in fines they expected him to enroll in all these alcohol assessment (which was hundreds of dollars) classes. He failed to do so because he didn't want to come to me for the money. They ended up sentencing him to 10 days in jail which costs another $240. Absolutely ridiculous. I was considering sending my daughter there after she graduated. Not now. My kids aren't even allowed to visit anyone there. Their police department is filled with about the biggest idiots. Kids in college go to parties. Even as parents we are not shocked. The people in their courts are extremely rude and not helpful at all. This is the forth student I know that this happened to this year. I only know of four people that go to that school. I know I will be sending my kids to Western over Central. Just a warning to parents. Unless your kids are angels and do nothing but study and you don't want them to enjoy the fun in college, DON'T SEND THEM TO CENTRAL MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY. You will get nothing but headaches.
Thank you for the comment. Western Michigan University is indeed a very good school academically.
